Top Teams Testing
Some of the top teams, actually six of them, in the Moto-America AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Series, were testing their motorcycles at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows, California. The test lasted two days, and it is important for their preparation for the Moto America series competition, which starts on April 10-12 in Texas.
Beside Josh Hayes and his Yamaha R1, Yoshimura Suzuki with Roger Hayden and Jake Lewis, Cameron Beaubier, Monster Graves Yamaha, Red Bull Road race Jake Gagne, Meen Motorsports with Josh Herrin and Joe Roberts and the Graves Yamaha's Supersport with riders JD Beach and Garrett Gerloff, were also testing their motorcycles.
Josh Herrin, from the Meen Motorsports, announced that although motorcycle is familiar, it is better and he is hoping for a great year. Although, he and his team never set up the motorcycle perfectly, he could ride it without problems. Who knows, if they make setup right, the results can be better. Roger Hayden, from the Yoshimura Suzuki, announced that he was trying too hard to set the lap record, but he failed! On the other side every lap time (no lap times were given, teams measured times for their own needs) was in the top 10, so this is a great success. But, in the real race these times can be a bit slower!
Cameron Beaubier rider of Monster Graves Yamaha, said that he loves his motorcycle! He appreciates Yamaha R6, because he won the title in 2013 with this motorcycle, and new R1 is even better, more powerful, but it is still compact, and suits him great!
