Audi Announces New SUV To Be Revealed At Frankfurt
German automaker Audi has announced the newest addition to its family; a SUV with the e-tron Quattro concept. According to AutoNews, this 4-seat vehicle will likely be called Q6 and will be between the Audi Q5 and Q7 length-wise.
This SUV will be powered by 3 motors on a lithium-ion battery; one in the front axle and two in the rear axle. The launch of this all-electric model is expected to beat out rival Tesla’s upcoming model X. It will have a mile range of 310 miles whereas the Tesla model X has a range of 170-230 miles per single charge. It’s really a threat for Tesla!
Audi didn’t announce the details of this SUV but told the world that it will go into production in 2018. The model will be unveiled at the 2015 International Motor Show in Frankfurt on September 15.
Tesla’s new model X SUV will start shipping in a few weeks. It’s the company’s third vehicle and is widely anticipated to be a great addition to Tesla’s hall of fame. Tesla is famous for the alluring configuration and look of their cars. But, Audi is completely conscious of its rival company and it getting prepared to compete with them on a larger level.
The SUV’s large lithium-battery, which is placed in between the axles below the passenger seats, will follow the “aerosthetics” concept, combining technical factors to reduce the drag to 0.25, which is a record in SUV segment of Audi. This car will offer a smooth and economic driving experience with amazing features, and it’s expected to outdo Tesla’s X SUV by far!
