2019 Ford Mustang GT California Special
Ford announced that it would be releasing a 2019 Mustang GT California Special. The new model will have a new audio system and high-tech handling features. Ford produced the first California Special in 1968. It was inspired by the 1967 Shelby GT coupe prototype. It was a limited edition model, just like the Mach 1, Boss, and Shelby special edition Mustangs.
The inspiration for the Latest California Special
The original California Special inspired the 2019 model. It has a fading stripe and a classic Ford badge on the trunk lid. The floor mats have custom embroidery, and seats have suede trimmings with red accents.
The 2019 Ford Mustang GT California Special includes a B&O Play audio system and a new technology that allows smooth shifting of the manual transmission. The rev-matching technology will make the driver feel like he is driving a racecar.
The rev-matching technology predicts shifting of the gear and matches the revolutions per minute of the engine. When downshifting, the revolutions per minute of the engine kick up to provide a smooth transition between gears.
The 2019 California Special has a five-liter eight-cylinder engine that can generate 460 horsepower and a top speed of 155 miles per hour. The engine has a deep, throaty sound, but drivers can switch to quiet start mode that is also called the good neighbor mode.
The new model will come in Velocity Blue, Need for Green, Dark Highland Green, Magnetic Gray, and Shadow Black. Aside from a manual transmission, the 2019 Ford Mustang GT California Special also comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It will be out on the market this summer, and Ford hasn’t provided any price for the special model.
